Travis Blomgren
Strength & Conditioning -Sport Performance Coach
Travis Blomgren was a nationally recognized high school athlete, a First Team Quarterback, Defensive Back & Punter for the Suburban One league in Bucks County Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia Inquirer Area Player of the Year, Philadelphia Eagles Alumni Award Winner, FOX tv Sports Show Top 5 Player of the Year, Maxwell Club Winner, First Team All-State, Super Prep & USA Today All-American, Voted to Big 33 All-Star Game, and Division I Scholarship Athlete at Penn State University and the University of Delaware.
Travis was part of the #1 Nationally Ranked Recruiting class of 1997 at Penn State which featured six future NFL draft picks, an eventual Pro Bowler, a two-time Super Bowl champion, an Army soldier and many future business leaders. As a Redshirt Freshman, he was part of a Penn State team that Ranked #1 nationally in the 1997 pre-season polls and received a bid to play the Florida Gators in the Citrus Bowl. As a Freshman in 1998 Travis played Special Teams and saw spot duty at Defensive Back en-route to the Outback Bowl to face the Kentucky Wildcats and future #1 draft pick Tim Couch. After struggling through the 1998 season with multiple injuries and eventual position change, Travis transferred to the University of Delaware in 1999 and started at Defensive Back for an athletic Delaware team that underachieved and went 7-4 on the season. Plagued by more injuries during the 1999 season, a shoulder and knee injury ultimately ended his career. Travis finished his education graduating from West Chester University with a Bachelors of Science Degree and Minors in Health & Athletic Coaching.
Travis pursued a career in law enforcement and obtained a Top Secret clearance with the US government. He graduated top of his class at the academy and received the Tactical Excellence Award, set the Obstacle Course Record, and qualified Expert in Firearms training. Following the academy he was selected as a member of the 5 man shooting team which competed against agencies nationally and internationally. Travis Served 9 years as an Officer and Sergeant with the United States Federal Government.
After 9 Years and a young family on the way, Travis left his career in law enforcement to coach and train athletes. In 2013 Travis became the Defensive Backs Coach at West Chester University where he helped guide the football team to the Division II playoffs, a Final Four appearance, and finishing the season ranked #4 in the nation. In addition to his coaching duties Coach Blomgren served as Assistant Strength and Condition Coach responsible for implementing and instructing aspects of the in-season strength program.
Following his stint at West Chester University, Coach Blomgren was hired as the Defensive Coordinator and Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at William Tennent High School in Warminster, Pennsylvania. Coach Blomgren now mentors and trains local athletes in all sports ranging from the youth level up to the collegiate level in Strength & Conditioning and Sport Performance.
